Elevation profile

A loop from the Market Square up the wooded Miejska Góra. Waiting there are a walk among the treetops, a hammock above the forest and the fifteen woodland tasks of the Orbisfera.

From the Market Square you head towards the greenery, and soon the climb up Miejska Góra begins. The forest here hides quiet mementoes of bygone days: the cholera cemetery of 1831, when the plague visited the area, and a wayside chapel of 1931. Older residents still remember the ski jump that operated here in 1940–1965. Today a shelter shaped rather like the tower of a ski jump stands in its place.

At the top, a path with glass spheres leads to the Forest Pier (Leśne Molo), a wooden walkway more than 200 m long, suspended among the trees. At its end await a huge hammock and a viewing platform, from which you can see Stary Sącz, the Poprad and the Dunajec, and on a clear day the Gorce mountains too. Right next to it lies the Orbisfera, where at 15 stations you can move about, experiment and get to know the forest with all your senses.

The way back leads downhill, back into town. The climb is not long but can be steep, so it is worth taking it unhurriedly and leaving yourself time for a rest in the hammock.
