On Dzielnica hill stands a spiral-shaped viewing platform. From it a panorama opens of the Radziejowa Range, the Sącz Basin and the Gorce.
Anyone with a car, or strong legs for cycling, should head out of town at least once, to Wola Krogulecka. It is a village in the Stary Sącz municipality. On Dzielnica hill there is a viewing platform that everyone calls the Ślimak – the Snail. It owes the name to its spiral shape, which sticks easily in the memory. The hill lies in the Sącz Beskids, above the Poprad valley.
The most precious thing, though, is the view. From the platform you can see the Radziejowa Range, the Sącz Basin, the Gorce and the Island Beskids. People come here especially at sunrise and sunset, when the valleys fill with soft light and sometimes mist. In misty weather, however, there may be no view at all.
By the platform there is a covered fire pit and toilets, and two free car parks nearby. The last stretch is a gentle climb along the blue trail. The Snail makes a fine end to a day spent in Stary Sącz – and an even better beginning.
